Senior DevOps Engineer (Remote)

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure automation initiatives. This role will play a critical part in building and managing Equinix virtual cloud network infrastructure, making hands-on Terraform and Equinix experience mandatory. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, network infrastructure, and DevOps best practices. This engineer will work closely with network engineers, DevOps engineers, vendors, management, and product owners to streamline infrastructure delivery, improve reliability, and enhance operational efficiency across enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Network Automation

• Design, build, and maintain Equinix virtual cloud network infrastructure, including Cisco routers and network cloud connections, using Terraform.
• Develop and manage network configuration through IaC to ensure consistent, repeatable, and auditable deployments.
• Automate provisioning and configuration of network cloud connections across Equinix environments.
• Ensure network infrastructure scalability, security, and high availability.

CI/CD Pipeline Development & Automation

• Design, build, and maintain automated Jenkins pipelines to deploy and manage IaC-driven network configurations.
• Implement deployment automation strategies to improve delivery speed, consistency, and reliability.
• Manage Git-based workflows and support DevOps best practices across engineering teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Agile Delivery

• Work as a single integrated team with network engineers, DevOps engineers, vendors, management, and the product owner.
• Plan and execute work using Agile methodology, including sprints, user stories, and technical planning meetings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure strategies and standards.

Documentation & Technical Leadership

• Create infrastructure diagrams as documentation and to communicate architecture to stakeholders.
• Lead IaC technical meetings with team members to establish and enforce code best practices.
• Upskill team members on IaC technologies, including Terraform, Git, IDE tooling (VS Code), Jenkins, and GitHub.
• Mentor team members and provide technical leadership on IaC and network automation best practices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Hands-on experience with Equinix virtual cloud network infrastructure.
• Experience configuring Cisco routers and network cloud connections.
• Experience building and maintaining Jenkins pipelines for automated infrastructure deployment.
• Strong Git and GitHub proficiency in a collaborative, multi-team codebase.
• Experience creating infrastructure and network diagrams for technical and stakeholder audiences.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including sprints and user stories.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical meetings and mentor or upskill team members on IaC practices.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with VS Code as a primary IaC development environment.
• Prior experience coordinating across network engineering, DevOps, vendor, and product stakeholder groups.
• Experience with infrastructure diagramming tools such as Lucidchart or draw.io.
• Relevant certifications such as Terraform Associate, Cisco certifications, or other cloud networking credentials are a plus.
